Taxonomy

Taxonomy & Subject Classification

Advanced hierarchical metadata management for structured knowledge discovery.

Strategic Content Categorization

The **Taxonomy Module** is the organizational core of the VOX EPMS, enabling the classification of vast datasets into meaningful, searchable groups. By utilizing standardized classification systems like **DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification)** and customized **Knowledge Management** groups, the system ensures that every document, grant, or budget entry is tagged with precision across the vx_ database architecture.

Core Functional Features

Dynamic Subject Management

Define unique Subjects with standardized **Short Codes** and descriptive names. Each subject acts as a metadata container, ensuring consistency across different modules like the *CMS* and *Data Store*.

Hierarchical Taxonomy Groups

Organize classification sets into distinct groups. For example, managing 45 published subjects under **DDC** or specific frameworks for **Knowledge Management**, providing a clear birds-eye view of your data distribution.

Visual Enhancement (Icons & Tooltips)

Upload custom **Taxonomy Icons** and define **Tooltip Text** for every subject. These visual aids improve the user experience within frontend portals, making data navigation intuitive for public and administrative users alike.

Granular Visibility Control

Configure advanced display settings for each subject, including options for **Accessible by Public**, **Opens in Iframe**, or **Opens in New Window**, allowing for seamless integration with external government resources.

Approval & Publishing Workflow

Every taxonomy subject undergoes a rigorous check-and-balance via the **Approved** and **Published** toggles, ensuring that only verified metadata structures are active within the system.
